The Future Perfect Tense
AFFIRMATIVE
To form positive sentences with the Future Perfect tense we use will/’ll plus have plus the past participle (third form) of the main verb.
| 1. I will/’ll have done | 1. We will/’ll have done |
| 2. You will/’ll have done | 2. You will/’ll have done |
| 3. He/she/it will/’ll have done | 3. They will/’ll have done |
NEGATIVE
To form negative sentences with the Future Perfect Tense we use will not/won’t plus have plus the past participle of the main verb.
| 1. I won’t have done | 1. We won’t have done |
| 2. You won’t have done | 2. You won’t have done |
| 3. He/she/it won’t have done | 3. They won’t have done |
INTERROGATIVE
To form questions we change the place of will and the subject of the sentence to form questions.
| 1. Will I have done? | 1. Will we have done? |
| 2. Will you have done? | 2. Will you have done? |
| 3. Will he/she/it have done? | 3. Will they have done? |
SHORT ANSWERS
We use the same short answers as for Future Simple.
We use the Future Perfect:
For actions which will be finished by a certain time in the future
We use the future perfect to talk about actions which will be completed by a stated future time.
